You might be wondering about what is the best way to go to Cappadocia and how to get to Cappadocia.
We will explain it according to the means of travel;
By flight; Which airport to fly for Cappadocia / Cappadocia Airports
There are two airports serving the Cappadocia region both with direct flights from Istanbul which is the best way to get to Cappadocia from Istanbul. So if you are wondering which airport to fly for Cappadocia or which airport to use here is the answer;
1- Cappadocia Airport -NAV-, which by the name suggests is the closest airport to Cappadocia. It is only 30 mins to Uchisar, 35mins to Goreme and 45 mins to Urgup. It is a small airport and thus has fewer flights per day and although it changes season to season, it is mostly restricted to flights from Istanbul’s two airport; Sabiha Gokcen Airport -SAW-; which is on the Asian side servicing mostly low-cost airlines, and the new Istanbul Airport -IST-; on the European side.
2- Kayseri Erkilet Airport -ASR-, is approximately 1 hour to Cappadocia region and since it is a bigger airport it has many flights from Istanbul each day as well as several flights to and from Izmir -ADB-.
To summarize, if you want to fly to Cappadocia, your best option is to get an Istanbul to Cappadocia flight and fly directly from Istanbul to Cappadocia (either NAV or ASR) or Izmir to Cappadocia (when available). Otherwise, Turkey’s most cities have an airport and you can always get a connecting flight through Istanbul.

- How to Drive to Cappadocia
Is it safe to drive in Turkey? Yes. The roads are very well maintained and intercity connections are in perfect condition.
It might be quite stressful to drive in Istanbul traffic or some other big cities like Ankara and even Izmir, but the rest should be quite easy and safe.
Our main advice and guidance would be to follow this basic rule of thumb;
Act and be vigilant as if the traffic rules are only enforced on you and not the other drivers. Don’t expect that the other cars will obey things like right of way, pedestrian crossings or even in some cases one-way streets.
Google Maps work quite good in Turkey for navigation, so does Yandex.
Cappadocia is approximately 3.5 hours drive from Ankara, 7.5 hours from Istanbul, 10 hours from Bodrum.
